Fine golden tendrils trail from the lower edge of the composition, drifting like cilia in water. A pale crescent rests at the top of the circle like a flash of surface light. The scale of the thing is impossible to pin down: it could be the view through a microscope or a glimpse of something enormous and distant. One of the most visually striking pieces in the collection, and one that rewards a slow look.
